What is PITTCULT? PITTCULT is to explore cultural events happening in Pittsburgh area with your friends. It collects various event information in one place. You can navigate, write reviews, rate your interesting events and share the information with your friends. It is also available to recommend or invite interesting events with your friends. Especially, based on your trust, the system suggests personalized service for you. How I can find my friends? Related menu : profile & friends --> My Friends; each user's profile In the page for friend, you can search your friend using login id, registered email or real name. When you find your friends, you can add them as your friends. Once your friends accept the friendship request, they are shown in your friends list. It is also possible other friends who are not PITTCULT users yet. You can invite them to PITTCULT. |

How I can be a friend with another user? Related menu : profile & friends --> My Friends When you search a list of users, you are able to add them as friends. PITTCULT is based on mutual agreement about the friendship. That is to say, both users have to agree on being friends. |

What is trust and how the value that I defined is used? Related menu : each user's profile PITTCULT basically utilizes human psychology to conform to opinions of friends. When people go to a music concert or exhibition, they commonly ask their friends' opinions, and invite them to go along. Centered on this trusted human network, users can recommend items to their friends and rate their friends' taste about a certain genre of cultural events. Once you rate a certain user's trust value, system starts to recommend events suitable for you. You can specify your friend's trust. Otherwise, you can also give a rating to non-friend users if you like her/his taste. The trust rating is classificied by event kinds. There are four ratings 'trust strongly', 'trust', 'don't know', and 'block.' |

What happen if I recommend one event to my friend? Related menu : Each event --> Recommend to friends; Each event --> Recommend to friends If you find an interesting event and want to go to the event with your friends, you can invite or recommend the event to your friends. If your friends are PITTCULT user, the recommendation will be sent directly to her recommendation repository like the below figure. If your friends are not PITTCULT user yet and you add them using just email, PITTCULT send an email for recommendation. |

I found an interesting event and I want to remember the event. How can I do in PITTCULT? Related menu : Each event --> Schedule this event When you found an interesting event, you are able to add it to your repository. In the page for each event, you can schedule them. |

I went to an event and I would like to write the review. Is it possible in PITTCULT? Related menu : Each event --> Create my review Yes, it is possible to add your own review. In each event page, your can write your review and evaluate how the event was. |

How I can see whole list of all events? Related menu : Home --> Show all events PITTCULT provides facet-based navigation. Just by clicking facet or date, the event list corresponding to the facet or date is retrieved. According to previous studies, this facet-based navigation is helpful to understand the characteristics of the domain and to find information with user's own strategy. Hence you can find event as you want and at the same time it would be easier to see the relevant event with your interests. |
